Watch artist Carole Feuerman at work, creating Balance. From precisely placing strokes of paint to strategically applying water drops, follow along and discover the process behind making these beautiful sculptures. With over 100 layers of paint, rigorous glazing and sanding it can take years to create these pieces. The minute details in the tiny water drops and wisps of hair, the precise application of eyebrows and eyelashes all must be perfect in order to create such a realistic sculpture, and Carole Feuerman achieves just that. Complete with tan lines and water drops it is easy to imagine this swimmer resting in the lotus position whilst mediating after a long and demanding swim. 

Balance will be featured at the National Hotel in Miami, which is celebrating its 75th Anniversary during Miami Art Week. A Toast to Goddesses and Swimmers at Miami Art Week

Come winter people from around the world find themselves escaping the chilly weather in favor of a warm tropical beach. For art lovers there is no better place to be than Miami the first week of December. From starlets and professional athletes to renowned artists, and high-class businessmen there is no telling whom you might bump into over a glass of champagne. The city transforms into an art mecca, becoming a pilgrimage for every contemporary art collector. With over 20 art fairs and 120 events, visitors are presented with the best contemporary art in the world in a Gatsby-esque environment.

Sculptor Carole A. Feuerman will be heading down south and presenting her work at several events during the week. At Art Miami www.artmiamifair.com, C24 Gallery www.c24gallery.com will be exhibiting a collection of stainless steel and bronze sculptures, many of them making their first appearance. The collection highlights Carole’s work in bronze and stainless steel as opposed to the traditional resin that many people have come to know her for. Her famous hyper realist sculptures including Next Summer, Miniature Tree, and New York City Slicker will be featured at the fair. Stainless steel Miniature Tree is a quintessential example of Carole’s ability to transform and reinvent steel and bronze. Miniature Tree has a fluidity to her that makes her appear to be liquid. Moreover, her polished exterior reflects the viewer, thereby forming a new perspective for each observer. This interactive media provides a new way of viewing Feuerman’s art. The shiny and enticing booth is not to be missed. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed at art fairs, it’s that if a selfie is feasible in a work, it can’t be missed.

Carole’s Painting with Fire series, a body of work she has been developing for over two decades. The process involves melting 6 different types of metals at 2,000 degrees. Once heated she takes the molten hot metal and drips, pours, splatters, and splashes the liquid into a hand made cast; she is literally painting with fire. Venus in Lace, and Dimetre are results of this technique. Each work contains rich textures, organic shapes, and has a remarkable iridescent color. They can be seen first hand at Art Miami! While the style and subject matter is very different between Carole’s dripped series and hyper realistic swimmers they are united in their concept, and work in tandem to represent Carole’s life work. The hotel is celebrating their 75th Anniversary by filling the hotel with Carole’s hyper realistic sculptures. Carole’s famous Golden Mean, a towering 16-foot male swimmer poised to dive, will be presented right out front of the hotel. Make sure to peruse the lobby, courtyard, and pool area; you can even wear your swimsuit!

From Carole: See You In Miami!

It's that time of year again- Art Basel Miami Beach is in full swing this week.  Fresh off landing from a previous trip, Carole has packed her bags to hit South Beach today.  She is in for quite possibly the busiest week of her year, with works featuring at nine different venues... yes, nine! The following sites will contain pieces by Carole: Miami Projects, Art Miami, Context Miami, Scope Miami, Mana Miami, GLE at Mana, Red Dot Art Fair, and Wynwood Space.

Despite her manic schedule for Miami, Carole wants everyone to feel welcome to spot and approach her throughout the week.  

She will be donning her distinct jacket (pictured above) so that anyone who wishes to introduce themselves and ask questions can do just that.  Keep an eye out for that blue and black print, and don't be shy about saying hello!

'Yaima And The Ball' to Debut in Miami

Carole Feuerman's brand new, never before seen piece Yaima and the Ball will be making its debut in Wynwood this December at Miami Project.  Bursting with athletic dynamism, this new addition reflects a bright, energized attitude from Carole.

The figure interacts with the plinth in a symbiotic fashion, both bearing a diagonal silhouette. Such congruence makes this work as much about the medium as its literal narrative theme. 

Miami Project will run from December 2 to 7 in Midtown at the Miami Project Pavilion.  The main entrance is located between NE 34th & NE 36th Streets between NE 1st Avenue (Midtown Blvd.) and Buena Vista Blvd.

This exciting new piece will be on view at Jim Kempner Fine Art, Booth 113 for the duration of the fair. Don't miss it!

KIAF 2014: Serena

The 2014 Korean International Art Fair (KIAF) opened yesterday in Seoul at the COEX Hall.  This particular fair boasts their mission to revive the Asian art market by featuring top contemporary artists from around the world.  This year, Carole Feuerman's 'Miniature Serena' is featured at the Galerie Klose booth (Hall A, booth A61).

Galerie Klose is based in Essen, Germany- a long but worthy trek to Seoul for this world-class exhibition. KIAF 2014 runs through Monday, September 29.  Keep up to date on the fair's activity by browsing their site, HERE.
